Tirupur : At the farmers grievance meeting held at Tirupur on Friday, the farmers urged that case filed against 14 farmers who protested in favour of implementation of Athikadavu-Avinashi project should be revoked.

Expressing his concern over the issue, one of the farmer Eswaran said "In the year 2016, 14 far era from the region staged a hunger strike condemning the delay in implementing the Avinashi-Athikadavu project. Cases are filed on them and till date, they are qalking to and fro to the court for every hearing. Now that the CM has inaugurated the project on February 28, the cases against them should be revoked".

The farmer also apprised that but"Whilesame was plead to the CM on the day of project inauguration, he requested to file a petition to the district Collector's office".
Hearing his petition, Collector Palanisamy assured to discuss the issue on a separate day.
